Australia was the last continent to cross before getting home, and probably the most dull. I made it worse by going straight down the middle, via the Stuart Highway. None of this sightseeing stuff along the coast for me. Nope, it was long days of not much out there. In western China there were big distances between places, but there would generally be a good-sized city at the end, with things to see and do. Here all I could look forward to was a roadhouse. Not going through any towns during the day was a bit weird. Still, at least I could get a cold beer and a hot meal at the end of the day.
I travelled from Darwin to Adelaide via Alice Springs, then across to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road. I’ve split the photos up into the three different states I passed through:
- Northern Territory
- South Australia
- Victoria
